The Heroes of Red Larch: Entry 80

These events take place before Rise of the Obsidian Legion.

Entry #80

The ebonborn fiend had fled after our battle below the gateways. By the tale of the others they had tangled with some vulture demon it had summoned after I went to destroy the purple crystals. With the portals closed the people of Red Larch are saved.

We have done good here but I could not call this a victory for the Heroes of Red Larch.

There are still those missing or, worse yet, dead. Some of people will face much in the time to come.

Others will know strength, pride and courage as I hope those feeling spread through those who would will be damaged after this. I believe they will despite what has happen in last few ten days to this quiet community.

Maddox and Varix.

The arrival of Novak.

The earthquake.

The Bringers of Woe.

The burning of the jail.

And now being overran and captured by the Restless Hand.

It is hard to believe that this all started with the help of my own two hands. Along side those thugs that I traveled to the town with I had beat some of these good people, pushing them into buying protection and forcefully taking their coin. Hate was all I had felt for myself, I was too much of a coward to stand up then. And now it is harder to believe that these hands aided in saving Red Larch through all the chaos.

If I can change for the better so can these townsfolk. Though this has been the worst of their misfortunes, I know they will pull together like never before, comforting and supporting each other through this terrible time they now face.

As we settle down in the barracks of the caves I see that they have already begun to do so. The elderly, young and injured being given the beds to ease their minds and bodies. Those that help them have already found their resolve, a good sign of things to come.

I have faith in them because they have put faith in myself and I am better for it. Without them or my friends never would I be the hero that stands before them.
